A few points to ponder- -the audience: inviting the public to respond. The work functions differently, reactions are not exclusive to the art world -the site: church across the street- eerie and fitting to hemingway's execution scene, fascists were held captive in the town's church before murdered. -the kitsch factor: it's turning heads, forcing you to notice

Opening night. April 24th. At around 11:30pm, I saw a couple intoxicated girls captivated by the heads. They were there for a while! I don't know if they are part of the "art world", but my guess is that they aren't.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is the most tasteful decoration of severed heads ever created. My favorite is the green one with the eye flying out. I think it keeps the piece from encroaching too closely upon reality.
As I stared at these heads, I began to get the unshakeable feeling that I had just seen the Muppets get slaughtered. I still don't know if I understand the work, but I enjoyed it.
